Kids Favourites in the Charente/Vendée:
To help you decide the places that your children will most enjoy we
decided to list here the things our children most liked to do in the
Charente / Vendée. This is
not a scientific process as children tend to only remember the things
they have done on recent holidays and obviously it is influenced by the
child's age and whether they are a boy and a girl. The list that
follows is averaged over 7 children, 2 boys and 5 girls, ranging in age
from 6 to 16.
1.
La Rochelle Aquarium. Lovely aquarium in a lovely old town.
2.
Puy du Fou Theme Park (right) - boasts atmospheric reconstructions
of a Norman fort, a medieval town and an 18th-century
village, with a special Son et Lumière show in the summer.

Ile de Ré. The most attractive of the Vendéean islands

Cognac distillery visit. Remy Martin offer a train ride
through their cellars; Hennessey's is by boat!
5. Futuroscope
Theme Park. Your older children will appreciate this the
most.
New addition:
Château Engimes near Pons. We're not sure where this would
rank in the above list but it comes highly recommended and you won't
find it in many guide books!
