2021 Family Holidays to France

Family holiday France 2021

Here at France for Families we are predicting that holidays to France in 2021 will retain it’s popularity for Brits  despite our current Coronavirus circumstances.

France is a family holiday destination that ticks a lot of boxes for an easy, relaxing and safe holiday. Read on to find out more.

Why France in 2021?

Let’s face it, long distance travel is looking unlikely for 2021 and although a ‘staycation’ in the UK may seem appealing, the price tag of a decent family holiday in some top spots such as Cornwall and Devon may prove to be off-putting.

Do we think holidays in France will be feasible in 2021, considering the current Coronavirus situation?

In short, yes.

France has a couple of great things going for it for 2021: (1) it’s easy to reach with easy ferry or tunnel crossings and (2) it’s so big and spacious!

Plus there’s a third benefit – choose carefully and you’ll get more for your money for your family holiday France, with the added bonus of some kinder weather.

Top French family beach holiday 2021

If you’re looking for a 2021 family beach holiday in France, then take your pick.  There is an amazing choice of beaches in this fabulous country, from cozy coves to miles of long stretches of sand, perfect for relaxing.

For 2021, you’ll be wanting to go somewhere quiet and away from the crowds. Our favourites for a beach holiday to France include South Brittany, the Vendee and Charente coast on the west. These easy to reach areas are quieter than the traditional beach resorts on the Mediterranean and the Cote d’Azur, with temperatures reaching the high twenties in the height of summer, it’s not too hot to still get out and about and enjoy the best beach days.

North and south Brittany offer coves around every corner of the coast, so it’s never difficult to find somewhere that you can relax in your own space.

The same again with the Vendee and the Charente. Traffic can get busy in the height of the summer months, but these areas are famous for family-friendly cycle routes, so get on your bike and cycle to the seafront!

The Best Inland Holiday

Some of the best family holidays in France we’ve had have been away from the coast. Kids love a beach holiday, but find the right place with good facilities and we guarantee that your children will also love a holiday that doesn’t fit the ‘traditional’ holiday stereotype.

Head inland in the Charente, the Loire, the Dordogne or further down south in the Midi Pyrenees, Lot et Gironde and you’ll be amazed at what you’ll discover.

Relaxed countryside settings – away from the crowds. Gites and cottages with excellent facilities and welcoming hosts, eager to tell you about the joys of their local area. Beautiful villages and scenic towns, pre-historic caves, medieval castles plus a host of activities including canoeing, hiking, cycling or simply playing about in water – rivers, lakes or pools.

Food & Drink

Take a deep breath and imagine the tastes of the morning croissant, the freshly baked bread and the market stalls offering fresh veg, fish and delicious cheeses. Don’t forget that your 2021 holiday to France means treating yourself to a tasty tour of the country with French favourites like croque monsieur (toasted sandwich – popular with the kids!), ratatouille (vegetables), coq au vin (chicken in wine) and creamy bisque soups.

Enjoy the leisure of eating out in France.  Avoid the big tourist areas, such as restaurants right on the seafront and head inland for the best value and be prepared for long service.  The French take eating out as a serious activity that takes several hours – so relax and enjoy!
