Description: This famous spa town is often referred to as ‘the pearl of Lake Geneva’ situated as it is on the shores of the lake.

Today the town name is perhaps most well known for its Evian mineral water www.evian.com and its thermal spas which can be found in the Parc Thermal. Consequently it has grown up with a certain degree of grandeur with impeccable gardens, tree lined avenues and opulent buildings.

Location: On southern shores of Lac Léman (Lake Geneva)

Our recommendations: The original ‘source’ of the spring still bubbles away at the Source Cachat and can be visited in the rue Nationale. Or why not take a boat trip on the lake – several ferry companies offer either circuits of the lake or visits across to Lausanne and Geneva in Switzerland. For those who enjoy a bit of pampering day packages are available at the thermal baths www.lesthermesevian.com.

For children: Children will enjoy the funicular railway which goes from the spa centre to the Royal Park Gardens.
