Brittany is a great destination for families, especially due to its proximity to the channel ports.  Whether you come in from Roscoff, St Malo, Caen or Cherbourg, it’s then an easy drive to any part of this region.

Our kids really enjoyed the boat experience – the overnight Portsmouth – St Malo crossing is good – time to eat, maybe catch a film or enjoy a drink in the bar before going to sleep in your cabin.  (Cabins, as oppose to reclining chairs, are always highly recommended!)

The main draw for the kids in Brittany has to be the beaches, there are such a variety from the red rock cliffs in the north to the pretty coves and light golden sand in the south.   Here’a a guide to the best beaches to be found, but our particular favourites are in the area to the south on the stretch between Concarneau and Carnac.
