Description: Viaduc de la Souleuvre must be the ultimate in stomach-churning experiences and is not for the faint-hearted. Three ‘thrills’are offered. The first is the bungy jump – mounted on top of 61m high pillars (the remains of a railway viaduct) is a platform from which it is possible to bungy jump. If you manage the 140m long suspension footbridge that links the columns then the jump should give no cause for concern!!!

If that isn’t enough you could also fly through the air on the ‘scable’ a 400m long aerial wire which whisks you across the valley (singly or in tandem) at 100 km/h. A Scable tandem ride is around €26* each.

Finally there is the Adventure Park where walkways, flying foxes, swinging suspension bridges etc…. further test your nerves of steel. This costs around €20* for adults and €16* for children under 13 but over 1.40m in height.

Location: Just south of A84 péage between junctions 40 and 41 at La Ferrière-Harang. From Jcn 40 head towards Vire, take the 2nd left onto the D675. In about 3km turn right onto the D56 and follow the signs.

General Information: Open daily from mid-June to mid-September and weekends from March to November. Around €1* site entry per person, free for the under 10s. MUST PRE-BOOK ACTIVITIES. Around €79* for one jump. Bungy jump suitable for children over 13. The scable is suitable for everyone over 1.30m and the Adventure Park for those over 1.40m. A J Hackett Bungy Viaduc de la Souleuvre, 14350 La Ferrière-Harang.

Recommendations: There’s a nice looking restaurant on site, although we didn’t try the fare. There is also a picnic area if you prefer to be self sufficient.

For the children: This activity is only for families with older children (with adult supervision) and there is not so much on site to occupy younger members of the family.
