In Provence you will be spoiled for choice of holiday activities – with caves to explore, rivers for canoeing, delightful markets, romantic towns, exquisite mountains and viewpoints, incredible Roman history…..and still more attractions that are worthy of mention – especially our children’s all time favourite holiday attraction in France, the Haribo Museum! And our favourite, Les Baux de Provence.
Haribo Museum
Description: The Haribo museum is a children’s paradise and provides an excellent attraction for a few hours visit. It is built in a pleasant setting by a water mill and is very reasonable value. The visit starts as it goes on by providing bags of sweets in exchange for your entrance fee, as well as tokens to operate the sweet making machines you will find later in the visit. There are many interactive and passive displays (see above marshmallow lady) that will capture the interest of children from toddlers to teenagers.
Location: Just off the D981 between Uzès and the Pont du Gard.
General Info: Open from 10.00-19.00 in July and August. Otherwise 10.00-13.00 and 14.00-18.00. Closed first 3 weeks of Jan. Tel: 0033 04 66 22 74 39 for info.
Our recommendations: Excellent for a rainy day. When we went here the mums went to the supermarket (for a pleasant browse without the kids around their legs!), whilst the Dad’s took the children around the museum.
For the children: This place is designed for them. Our kids rated this as a holiday highlight. Make sure you take some loose change to buy some sweets in the shop!
