Bouyé Gîte - From £490 to £830 per Week
This renovated barn in south west France offers very comfortable and tastefully furnished gîte accommodation. In keeping with tradition, the barn has been restored with attention to detail, whilst retaining the original oak beams and stone-walls.
Combining the best of traditional features and modern living, our self-catering guests enjoy comfortable accommodation, fresh local produce and use of our large swimming pool.
Bouyé is situated on the edge of the Lot et Garonne / Dordogne, department 47 of the Aquitaine region. We are minutes away from Monflanquin, reputed to be one of the most beautiful of the Bastide towns. We can be found on the map between Cahors and Agen. There are many Bastide towns in the region, with Monflanquin being only 6 Km, and Villeneuve sur Lot is 12 Km.
Our complex is well positioned for exploring the towns and villages of this beautiful part of rural France.
Whether you enjoy walking in the quiet country lanes, relaxing by the pool, or indulging in a glass of regional wine in the warm evening air, your hosts, Carol and Martin Whiteway will endeavour to make your stay a pleasant and memorable one.
Kitchen and dining
The gîte is fitted with a new American kitchen/lounge, gas hob and oven. Washing machine, clothes airier, dish-washer and fridge/freezer, together with an electric toaster, kettle and coffee machine. The gîte is equipped with six place settings and the usual kitchen utensils, pots and pans.
The lounge is furnished with dining table and four chairs, lounge suite, occasional table, flat screen television, with Sky connection and dvd player. Separate radio cd system.
A wide selection of viewing material is available on request, as too are boxed games, puzzles and the French traditional game of Boule. We also have a small library, available for guests to use.
Free wi-fi connection is also available.
Our gîte sleeps four.
Bedroom one furnished with one double bed, pine bedside cabinets together with a chest of drawers and wardrobe. The room is fitted with French doors, and overlooks the private garden.
Bedroom two is twin bedded, with pine bedside cabinets together with a chest of drawers and wardrobe. Bedrooms have hair dryers and are fitted with French and English sockets, or converters.
Both bedrooms are equipped with oscillating fans.
The large shower has a ceramic tiled finish, with glass door closure and adjustable shower temperature. Vanity unit and basin with large mirror. WC, and towel rail.
Heating can be provided if required, at extra charge.l
The gîte has some indoor and outdoor games, a selection of dvds are available on request. A small selection of books.

Garden and outside
The private terrace has a bbq, large garden table with six chairs, parasol and two sun loungers. The Prune Barn enjoys full sun all day. In its private garden, one can enjoy breakfast in the sunshine, and at lunchtime too, the day concludes with the warm shade of the evening. Enjoy a peaceful afternoon in the garden, or relaxing by the 10×5 metre swimming pool.

Bouyé guests are only minutes away from Monflanquin; its arcades at the market square, surrounded by medieval houses narrow streets and alleyways. With several highly recommended restaurants, morning and evening producers’ markets and numerous traditional french bars, Monflanquin is a joy to explore and the perfect venue in which to mix with the locals.
Local outdoor activities are in abundance: golf courses, equestrian centres, tennis, fishing and trotting to name but a few.
The lake at Lougratte makes an ideal spot for a picnic, with bathing, boating and a man made beach.
France would not be complete without its Chateaux – Chateau Biron and Chateau Bonaguil are both just a short drive away.
Just over the border, in the Dordogne, visit the town of Bergerac and take a boat trip on the river Lot, or try a visit to the nearby vineyards of Monbazillac and Pécharmant. Wine tastings are free, and are not to be missed!
