The 4 bedroom property can accommodate up to 10 persons (including young babies and children) and includes a large living and dining area, refurbished kitchen, bathroom and a conservatory overlooking the private garden.
The property is located on the Résidence du Bois de Pleuven estate, in the south west corner of Finistère, Brittany. The nearest ferry port is Roscoff, approximately an hour and a half’s drive from the property. The nearest international airport is located at Brest, also approximately an hours drive from the property.
The cottage offers a fully fitted kitchen with built-in electric oven and fridge, and a small breakfast table and 4 chairs. The main dining area is attached to the lounge and is furnished with dining table and 8 chairs, built-in cupboard containing crockery, glasses, puzzles, and games etc.
The living room comprises of 2 settees (one is a bed settee) and 2 swivel rocker chairs, coffee-table, table lamp, standard lamp and radio. There is a television, but this can only be used with the video and dvd players and the Sony PlayStation 2 which are provided, together with a selection of dvds and PlayStation games.
There are 4 bedrooms, on the ground floor is bedroom 1, which contains Bunk beds and 1 single bed plus Bedroom 2, which contains 1 double bed. On the first floor is bedroom 3, which contains 1 double bed and 1 single bed and cot if required. Bedroom 4 has 1 double bed and 1 single bed.
There is a ground-floor Bathroom and a first floor Bathroom.
At the end of the lounge french doors lead into a conservatory, which in turn leads on to decking and the rear of the garden.
To the side and rear of the property is a large garden that backs onto the woodland. Within the garden there is a built in barbecue, space for garden table and chairs and a washing line. There is space on the drive for one car only, but additional parking is available directly outside the property. A garage is attached to the side of the property and includes garden equipment and furniture, as well as a sink with drainer, indoor washing line and a washing machine.
There are many lovely beaches lining the south coast of Brittany; some close to town centres and restaurants, some are long, stretching as far as the eye can see and others hidden in little secret coves. All the beaches are sign-posted along the coast, but some of the more popular ones include Cap Coz, Beg Meil, Port Manech near Pont Aven and Benodet’s town beach.
Head to the Stonehenge of Brittany, Carnac, which is known for its unique rows of ancient standing stones. In addition to the stones, Carnac also has a collection of sheltered beaches and a museum devoted to Prehistory, with a collection of prehistoric objects from around the region. Carnac is approximately a 90 minute drive from the property.
Although it is one of France’s main fishing ports, Concarneau is a popular tourist destination. The main attraction is the Ville Close (the walled town), an old stone, fortified ‘town’, full of narrow streets, shops, restaurants and ramparts with spectacular views over the area. Outside of the Ville Close is the modern Concarneau, with coastal walks, beaches, restaurants and cafes.
A quaint and traditional stoned village, Locronan is located about an hours drive from the property, to the North West of Quimper. The village is well-known for it’s religious connections and the church, which dominates the village centre and the surrounding countryside and landscape. The village is also a short journey from the port town of Douarnenez and Douarnenez Bay.
Known for its association with the impressionist painter, Paul Gauguin, Pont Aven is a picturesque village at the mouth of where the River Aven meets the sea, forming a large coved area. The village contains many traditional clothes and food shops, as well as some riverside walks, which follow the river past the old mills out towards the sea.
