Perfect for a relaxing holiday in an undiscovered and unspoilt department in the Midi-Pyrenees region of southwest France, Gite Honeysuckle is a magical place is perfect for a holiday any time of year.
This gite in south west France offers 2 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, for 4-6 persons. Enter the charming house via a private terrace, with three stone steps that lead into the main open plan room with lounge, kitchen and dining areas with a vaulted ceiling, original oak beams and cool terracotta tiled floor. The large windows offer great views onto the garden and valley beyond.
A hallway leads to the two en-suite bedrooms. Both rooms have wooden floors, south west facing windows overlooking the garden and are decorated in classic French greys, blues and greens. One bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has twin beds.
The gite can accommodate up to 6 pers with a camp bed added to the twin room for a 3rd person or use of the comfortable double sofa bed in the lounge. Alternatively for those requiring just one bedroom they can offer a discount on the normal price.
Adjacent to the Gite is a vine-covered terrace with tables and chairs – the perfect place to enjoy an evening meal as the sun goes down.
There is an indoor and outdoor pool just 3 minutes from the house.
Visit antique markets, village fetes, night markets, Autumn festivals and Christmas markets throughout the Aveyron including the local town of Rieupeyroux.
The Aveyron is famous for the spectacular Millau viaduct – the highest road bridge in the world, Roquefort – the king of cheeses and the Laguiole knife. It has 10 of the official “Most Beautiful Villages” in France, more than any other department.
Beyond the Aveyron, our neighbouring Midi-Pyrenees departments of the Lot, Tarn and Tarn-et-Garonne have many more top class attractions. To the north is the pilgrimage site of Rocamadour, one of the most visited sites in France. To the west you can sample the deep red wines of Cahors or visit the number 1 most beautiful village in France – Saint-Cirque-Lapopie. To the south is the stunning medieval walled city of Cordes-sur-Ciel and the episcopal city of Albi, recently classified as a UNESCO world heritage site, with its unique cathedral Sainte Cecile and the Berbie palace housing the Toulouse Lautrec museum. To the east are the truly breathtaking Tarn Gorges.
