Description

Le Clos Sainte Marie Gites offers four beautiful French farmhouse and barn conversion gites in the Languedoc region of Southern France.  These sites are perfect for large families or friends holidaying together, or you can enjoy the privacy of your own gite if you want to hire independently.

Caune Gite offers:

  • 2 bedrooms, sleeping up to 6
  • 6 x 12m shared, heated outdoor pool, fenced off
  • Play area with trampoline, swings and slide
  • Large gardens with orchard
  • Outdoor BBQ for communal dining
  • WIFI and flat screen TV

Caune is a spacious, family friendly gite that can sleep up to 6 in 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed the other has two singles and a fold out sofa bed. The rooms are large and both bedrooms have balconies which overlook the gardens and the heated swimming pool.

The decoration of Caune self catering gite is a traditional French farmhouse style with lots of exposed stone and French furniture. It has a fully fitted kitchen with oven, microwave, hob and fridge freezer, dishwasher and private laundry facilities.

Caune also benefits from private terraces with outdoor furniture so you can savour a glass (or two) of Languedoc wine and dine al fresco any time you wish.

All our self catering gites have WiFi and flat screen televisions with UK television.

Fresh bread and patisserie are delivered daily from our local baker in the neighbouring village of Carlipa.

Fresh local flowers and wine will be waiting to greet you to help get your self catering holiday in France off to a relaxing start.

Please note there is a cleaning charge if you should require end of holiday cleaning of your holiday home.

Local Attractions

This is a great area for exploring castles and other historic attractions.  Castles nearby include:

Carcassonne (28km, 35 mins.)
Peyrepertuse (100km, 1hr 50)
Queribus (53km, 1hr)
Lastours (30km, 40 mins.)

The medieval City of Carcassonne, famously being part of the film location for the 1980s ‘Robin Hood’ film is a great place to visit.   Holy grail hunters will head for the town of Renne-le-Chateau to see the town where Abbot Sauniere was said to have found a treasure and documents ‘”so important as to change the face of the world'”.

From Cenne-Monesties the nearest market town is the charming Bram with it’s concentric streets, well worth a visit and there are many lakes to be discovered, such as the 17th century Lake Saint-Ferréol.

Of course the Languedoc-Roussillon has the largest wine production figures in the world and the ideal climate here ensures the Aude region makes the best tasting wine.
