Description

Le Domaine du Chasselas is a beautiful spot to enjoy a family summer holiday in the countryside, an off-season break, a short stopover or perhaps a longer stay if you are house-hunting or working in the area.

Our two bed and breakfast rooms are in what was the original barn – now restored to provide the perfect bed and breakfast room for your holiday. Both rooms have a double bed and shower and come with tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast is served outside on the terrace most of the year or inside in our wine cave during winter months. The excellent local bakery in Castelsagrat supplies some of the best bread, croissants and choclatines you will have ever tasted.

Outside, there is a 10m x 5m pool to cool down on hot afternoons. There is a brand new games room for all the guests – pool table, table tennis, table football, darts, cards, board games – another popular space to cool off in the summer!

Local Attractions

The peaceful location and the beautiful views across the valley conjure up lazy afternoons in the sun preceded by a fine lunch made with fresh, local produce from the many markets in the area.

Check out the beautiful hilltop villages of Lauzerte and Auvillar. The weekly food markets in Moissac and Valence d’Agen are bursting with delicious, fresh local produce – guaranteed to make your mouth water! If you prefer someone else to do the cooking, there are numerous restaurants within 30 mins drive – everything from a plate of chips to a Michelin star (and plenty in-between). In summer, most of the local villages have night markets where you can have a delicious meal and be entertained by live music.

For our more active guests there are quiet country roads for running/walking/cycling (local maps available). Or take advantage of the swimming lakes, canoeing, walking, cycling, golf and even water skiing all within a 30 minute drive.

Culture, history and a lively Saturday/Sunday market can all be found in the medieval town of Moissac (15 kms) but if you crave a big city fix, Toulouse is just under an hour away.

If you like good wine, we can recommend a visit to Chateau Latuc in the Cahors appellation. it is a pleasant 40 minute drive through the countryside. They produce award winning wines and our personal favourite is the Chateau Latuc prestige malbec which is fabulous! We are also very close to Armagnac country if you like your brandy.
