Description

Le Domaine du Chasselas is a beautiful spot to enjoy a family summer holiday in the countryside, an off-season break, a short stopover or perhaps a longer stay if you are house-hunting or working in the area.

La Grappe Gite is a very pretty 2 bedroom house with lovely views over the valley.  You enter from your private terrace directly into kitchen/diner which is fully equipped for 4 people and has air conditioning/electric heating. There is a TV and DVD player (there is an extensive selection of DVDs available to borrow from the games room) and European satellite channels. Also a CD player with connections for iPods/MP3s.

There is one double en-suite on the ground floor – also with lovely views of the valley and the surrounding countryside. A staircase takes you down to the lower ground floor which has a king size double bed and en-suite shower/WC. There is air-conditioning/electric heating. An external door opens out on to a small area with a table and chairs – ideal for an early morning cup of coffee or a final glass of wine at the end of the day.

At ground floor level you have your own private terrace – perfect for watching the sunset and if you are lucky you may see deer in the fields below or even our resident Owl family!

Outside, there is a 10mx5m pool to cool down on hot afternoons. There is a brand new games room for all the guests – pool table, table tennis, table football, darts, cards, board games – another popular space to cool off in the summer!

The excellent local bakery in Castelsagrat is just 3kms up the road – drive, jog, walk, cycle.

La Grappe is available to rent all year round and short breaks/long-term lets can be booked outside of high season. Flexible changeover days are offered and the accommodation is available for the horse Endurance event in Castelsagrat in May – they are only 3kms from the course start.

Local Attractions

The peaceful location and the beautiful views across the valley conjure up lazy afternoons in the sun preceded by a fine lunch made with fresh, local produce from the many markets in the area.

Check out the beautiful hilltop villages of Lauzerte and Auvillar.  The weekly food markets in Moissac and Valence d’Agen are bursting with delicious, fresh local produce – guaranteed to make your mouth water! If you prefer someone else to do the cooking, there are numerous restaurants within 30 mins drive – everything from a plate of chips to a Michelin star (and plenty in-between). In summer, most of the local villages have night markets where you can have a delicious meal and be entertained by live music.

For our more active guests there are quiet country roads for running/walking/cycling (local maps available). Or take advantage of the swimming lakes, canoeing, walking, cycling, golf and even water skiing all within a 30 minute drive.

Culture, history and a lively Saturday/Sunday market can all be found in the medieval town of Moissac (15 kms) but if you crave a big city fix, Toulouse is just under an hour away.

If you like good wine, we can recommend a visit to Chateau Latuc in the Cahors appellation. it is a pleasant 40 minute drive through the countryside. They produce award winning wines and our personal favourite is the Chateau Latuc prestige malbec which is fabulous!
