"Quiet and magical property”, “unique, lovely house”, “beautifully restored, delicate house”, “the house is lovely and so full of character and the garden is beautiful “what an idyllic retreat” “beautiful and comfortable home” are expressions taken out of the comments left by our visitors in our guestbook (please see the fuller versions below). In 2013 many of our visitors commented to us that they selected this property, not just for its character but also because it is not a gîte complex, the house, the garden and the pool are entirely yours so you can enjoy complete privacy and tranquillity. We live about 2 miles away, easily available if needed..
Set in a tiny hamlet, this 16th Century manor house has been lovingly restored to bring back to life its many architectural treasures: beautifully carved windows with interior stone seats, impressive flagstones and beams, an arched stone sink, a Gothic fireplace, with all the modern comfort. Architectural elements such as wall panels, antique doors, superbly carved solid walnut furniture, paintings and subtle colour schemes have been carefully selected to suit the house's character. An article concerning this house's restoration can be found in the January 2006 issue of French Property News. For more photos, please contact us.
Babies, toddlers and children are very welcome, we provide a cot, a high chair, a baby bath, changing mat, toys and games etc, free of charge and of course the exclusive use heated pool ideal for children..
Situated only a few steps away from the river Dive within the NATURA 2000 wildlife protected zone, perhaps you could catch a glimpse of some of the 15 protected species of birds, including the little bustards, honey buzzards, montagues and marsh harriers etc, take some lovely walks through the unspoilt countryside, bring your bikes and enjoy the peaceful lanes and roads and/or simply relaxing in the pretty and very private enclosed garden. The garden is a veritable sun trap where you will enjoy the scent of jasmine, lavender, old roses, help yourself to the Moroccan mint for tea, dine al fresco under the pergola and enjoy a good barbecue.
