Le Mas des Oules
Le Mas des Oules - From 1500€ to 1500€ per Week
Le Mas des Oules is a family run estate in the ‘Gard Provençal’. Historically it was the farm and winery of the château of Saint-Victor des Oules and has since been sympathetically converted into eight houses and apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms.
The Mas is set in grounds of 8ha and offers spectacular views across la plaine de l’Alzon to the Cévennes hills. There is plenty of space to relax and unwind and the large infinity pool (open May – October) offers a welcome escape from the summer heat.
The Mas is very family-friendly and children of all ages are welcome. We can provide cots and high chairs as well as toys for younger children. All our kitchens are equipped with microwaves and plastic plates and cups.
We have a number of houses and apartments suitable for families:
Clematite – a courtyard house for a family of three (two bedrooms; a double and a small single) as well as a spacious bathroom with bath and shower over. On the ground floor there is a an open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen. The house has its own vine covered terrace with table and chairs for dining.
Genet – one of our most popular houses, Genet is located to the rear of the Mas, overlooking the gardens. The house has a quirky loft-style layout with a wonderful mezzanine living area. There are two bedrooms, one twin and a double, and a newly refurbished wet room. On the ground floor there is fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Genet benefits from one of the most private terraces at the Mas which is shielded by a ‘wall’ of bamboo.
Dahlia – ideally suited to a family of four, Dahlia is a courtyard house spread over two floors with two bedrooms; one twin and a double. On the ground floor there is an open plan living space with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Outside there is south facing vine covered terrace.
Agave – a light and airy first floor apartment with spectacular views across ‘la plaine de l’Alzon’ to the Cévennes hills. It has two bedrooms, one twin and a large master suite. Bathroom with bath and shower over. There is an open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen. Agave also benefits from its own terrace facing the courtyard of the ‘Mas’, which is a wonderful sun trap throughout the year.
Belle de Nuit – our largest house set over two floors facing the courtyard of the Mas. It has three bedrooms – two twins and a double – and is perfect for a large family. Spacious bathroom with bath and shower over. There is an open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen. The house has its own terrace which is shaded by a wonderful wisteria.
If you are travelling with grandparents or a nanny, we also have Studio Iris available – a small self-contained unit for up to 2 guests.
Our rates include all bed linen, bath towels and end of stay cleaning.

The town of Uzès, with its spectacular Italianate architecture and renowned Saturday market, is only 8km away. Largely pedestrianised, it is easy to spend a day exploring its medieval streets and squares. In the evenings you can enjoy an aperitif under the plane trees in the ‘Place aux Herbes’ before heading to one of the town’s excellent restaurants. Uzès remains ‘alive’ all year round with regular festivals and exhibitions ranging from a contemporary dance to a celebration of the truffle in January.
Within an hour and a half you can visit such vastly different regions as the Cévennes (chestnut forests, Robert Louis Stevenson trail), the Ardèche (river and gorges), the Luberon (Gordes, Fontaine de Vaucluse, ‘Peter Mayle country’), Les Alpilles (St Rémy de Provence, Les Baux de Provence) and the Camargue with its wild beaches, horses and bulls. Just a 40 minute drive away the towns of Avignon, Nîmes, and Orange are home to some of France's most famous historical sights. Even closer is the Pont du Gard – a vast Roman aquaduct dating back to the 1st century AD. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site it is one of the country's most visited attractions.
