Mas de la Bousquette
Mas de la Bousquette - From €2000 to €4560 per Week
Three luxury gites making a perfect getaway for three families, a group of friends or several generations of a family who wish to holiday together with a little independence.
Our magnificent Provençal mas and gites are set in 7 acres of gorgeous gardens and meadows below historic Lussan – one of the ‘Plus Beaux Villages de France’ just a short drive from Uzès. Its tranquility will charm you from the moment you step inside the spectacular inner courtyard. Some 500 years old, the mas has been a silk worm factory and sheep farm and the buildings have been sympathetically restored to create charming, rustic but very comfortable accommodation; the perfect place to retreat to at the end of a hard day’s sightseeing. For children our grounds are ideal – room to kick a ball, fly a kite or feed the chickens!
Centrally located for Roman antiquities, great cities including Avignon, Nimes and Arles but within easy reach of the rugged Cevennes and Ardeche mountains, the mas offers something for everyone.
For outdoor enthusiasts there’s a wealth of activities available from canoeing to canyoning, hiking to cycling. Footpaths and bike trails righ from the door. Culture vultures will love the Roman ruins, the museums and charming French villages and markets, and of course almost everyone will surely enjoy our local vineyards.
The gardens are a delight – walkways covered with wisteria, roses and clematis; a walled pool garden full of Mediterranean and exotic sub-tropical plants; a weeping willow over an ornamental pond, alive with colourful koi carp; and shady boules garden and terrace. BBQs, both gas and charcoal. Swimming pool (within baby listening reach of Le Grenier and La Bergerie). Bikes available for children and adults – serious cyclists may prefer to bring their own.
The three gites together sleep a maximum of 11 and we welcome children of all ages when all three gites are booked together.
Our gites are equipped to the highest standard. Fully equipped kitchens, comfortable beds and bedding, well furnished sitting rooms and outdoor terraces, ipads pre loaded with local information and bluetooth speakers to connect to your phone or tablet. Washing machines, tumble drier or washing line, microwave, fridge freezer. Our small on site ‘ shop’ offers basic essentials as well as those so important ice creams, beers, wines and soft drinks!
Welcome dinner the weekend of arrival – a very relaxed supper ‘à la Provençal’ with locally sourced ingredients ( including our own free range eggs) and local wines.
Separated from the main house by our stunning Roman style courtyard, with their own parking area and entrance through the orchard each gîte has its own private terrace where you can take enjoy a leisurely breakfast or sip something cool on a summer’s evening. Le Grenier and Le Murier share a terrace with dining table and chairs for 10-12. Two separate barbecue areas in the gardens mean you can enjoy “al fresco” dining and watch the sunset over nearby Mont Bouquet.
We bake bread and pastries every morning to order, or have them delivered from the local boulangerie, and deliver them hot from the oven.
