The three gites, Les Hirondelles, Les Etables and Les Noisetiers, each sleep four people, however we can provide a put up bed if it is required.

The gites offer:

  • Free Internet access, subject to availability.
  • An indoor games room for the children and a out door play area complete with swings.
  • All linen and towels plus pool towels included
  •         Private terrace with each gite
  •         Outdoor heated swimming pool
  •         Wood burning stoves & electric heaters

  •         Laundry room with washing machines.

During your stay here you can enjoy eating fresh home grown vegetables when they are available along with eggs from our free range chickens. The owners are more than happy to take your children with them under supervision to feed the chickens, ducks and the guinea pigs and to see the sheep.

Local Attractions

The house sits on a hillside and is surrounded by orchards and farmland which are planted with wheat and sunflowers. The views from Peyrenègre are exceptional and the sunrises and sunsets are spectacular.  The rolling landscape stretches out to the nearby larger village of St Barthelemy, changing colour with the seasons.

Labretonie itself is a small village with a mainly farming community. The region is famous for nuts, plums and tomatoes which are grown in profusion around the village.

Walking, cycling, tennis, golf, horse riding are all available close at hand.   Golf lovers check out the courses close to Peyrenègre – http://www.touradour.com/golf/aquigolf.htm.

For music lovers there are jazz and blues festivals and there is an orchestra and a Cabaret group at Vertueil, an adjacent village and for those lazy days there are wonderful local restaurants – a huge menu plus wine for less than 15 euros.

The gites all have a guest book which gives a full listing of places of interest and seasonal activities. These range from riding the rollercoaster at Walibi to strolling around the water lily garden at Temple-sur-Lot , relaxing in the thermal baths at Casteljaloux or cycling and walking in the countryside.

During July and August there are marché producteurs almost every evening – take your plate and knife and fork, buy your supper from a local producer who will then cook it for you, then eat it at long trestle tables while listening to the entertainment.
