About France for Families

France for Families is a free online travel guide with advice on the best of France, was founded by Jo Taylor, a passionate franco-file and explorer of France.

Jo lived and worked all across France for many years, homes including Pont Aven in Brittany, La Palmyre in the Charente and the most beautiful alpine village in the world (in her humble opinion!), Montchavin in the Haute Savoie which gave France for Families a great foundation.

With other activities beckoning and the desire to explore even more of France, in 2022 she passed control of France for Families to Sue Eaves, of HL Holidays (formerly Halcyon Leisure), a specialist booking management agency for properties in the Lot and Dordogne regions.

Originally trained as a teacher, most of Sue’s working life has been spent in business with her husband Jon in diverse businesses including agriculture and photography before taking over Halcyon Leisure in 2015.

In her spare time Sue is a passionate cook, with an impressive library of cookery books and also enjoys exploring the coast and country of West Dorset and East Devon from her countryside base.

Sue works with carefully selected partners to advertise a select choice of the best family friendly holiday accommodation in France, featuring Villas, Cottages and Gites with superb family-friendly facilities. It is the ethos of the France for Families business that we get to know our Owners with whom we partner, ensuring that we offer the very best of what a family holiday in France can offer.
