La Bigorre Farmhouse Holiday Rental
La Bigorre is a small complex of four holiday cottages with a wonderful heated pool in a rural hamlet. The property is just 30 minutes from the beaches of Royan, St Georges de Didonne and La Palmyre in the beautiful Charente Maritime.
Accommodation
This lovely old farmhouse comprises a large fully equipped kitchen/dining room with a table comfortably seating eight. The farmhouse kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need during your stay, including a range cooker, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine and washing machine.
The kitchen leads into a spacious lounge. It has three sofas, a cosy wood burning stove for cooler spring and autumn evenings and a door opening directly into the enclosed games barn.
Like all of our cottages, the Farmhouse is well furnished and fully equipped with flat screen TV with French and UK free sat television. It also has a DVD player as well as lots of other items to make your stay more comfortable. An interconnecting door from the kitchen can be unlocked to join with Well Cottage next door for larger groups, if desired. Please ask for more details on our other properties.
Bedrooms
Upstairs, the Farmhouse has original wooden beams and sleeps up to eight in three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, there is a second double room and the children’s bedroom consists of two single beds and one set of bunk beds. All bed linen and towels are provided. All the bedrooms and living rooms overlook our lovely mature gardens.
Outside Space
Along with the lovely mature gardens, the Farmhouse has a dedicated terrace area with garden table and chairs, parasol and barbecue. The swimming pool is heated.
Getting Here
La Bigorre is located mid-way between the airports at La Rochelle and Bordeaux. We are within a few miles of the A10 motorway exits at Gemozac and Mirambeau. It is about an hour and a quarter from each airport.

We specialise in catering for families and have a superb range of equipment, toys and games for toddlers to teens. We aim to make holidays easier for parents so they can relax and be at home at La Bigorre. That’s why so many of our visitors return again and again! Surrounded by vines, sunflowers and corn, there’s little traffic here, making it a lovely peaceful and safe place to be. Children are well catered for with our fully enclosed heated pool, garden swings, table tennis, pool table, table football, boules, games, books and DVD library. Alternatively, you may prefer to walk or cycle along the lanes amongst the vineyards and sunflower fields. We have plenty of bicycles (adult and child size) and trailers all available to borrow at no extra charge. We have a young family ourselves and if you require any assistance we will be delighted to help.
