Description: A lovely setting! Najac is rather unusual in that although it is a small village it spans two hills.

Location: 25km north of Cordes-Sur-Ciel

General Info: Office du tourisme Tel: 05.65.29.72.05.  Najac is one of several villages in this area which are classed as Les Plus Beaux Villages de France.

There are some incredible views of the ruined chateau on a separate hilltop as you walk down through the village.

Our recommendations: For the best experience of the town, park away from the castle and then walk through the village to reach the ruins.  Nearby is the Aveyron gorge which is like a mini version of the Dordogne – you can spend a full day touring this area.
For the children: Try canoeing in the Aveyron gorge.
