Outdoor Living

Outside you can admire the amazing vistas from the private heated swimming pool, laze in the jacuzzi or simply enjoy a glass of local wine from the terrace as you look out to the cacophony of green fields and orchards around you. The gardens are vast and include a 400 year old Cedar tree dating back to when the Manoir was first built.

The outdoor terraces call you to linger over delicious food & wine as evening falls. Listen for the owls starting their evening hunt and other wild life settling down for the night.

Local Area

You can wander through the plum and kiwi orchards to the local village. Here you will find a couple of bakeries for your morning pastries and a great supermarket catering for most of your needs. There is a friendly café serving coffee and drinks.  They also serve lunch daily in July and August plus dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. There is also an amazing “haute cuisine” restaurant. Just across the bridge is a pretty beach on the banks of the River Lot. You can swim here and hire boats in the summer months and enjoy the lively beach bar/café.

Further Afield

Explore further afield to idyllic hilltop villages which come alive in the summer evenings.  Explore the night markets serving amazing food and drinks. This area is well known for its delicious fruit and some of France’s most famous vineyards.  Why not take some time to sample the fine wines of the region.

As well as the attractions for the little ones you can also hire bikes in the local village, play golf or go horse-riding through the magnificent countryside or simply explore some of France’s Plus Beaux Villages such as Pujols and Monflanquin or cross the border to Dordogne to discover some gems such as Monpazier, Issigeac and beautiful Bergerac, all within an hour.

That said, with such glorious views (you may even spot deer or falcons from your terrace), you don’t have to travel far from the house to be amazed by this captivating area.

We, Martyn & Liz, the Owners, live on site in a separate building together with our friendly dog, Burt. We will be there to help you with anything you need however we will keep discretely in our own part of the property during your stay other than for essential maintenance.

Why we are family friendly:

From the reviews on our website you will see that we have welcomed many multi generational family groups who have had nothing but positive feed-back on their stays with us. When renting both properties, guests have access to 2 private pools, with one typically being designated the "chill-out zone" and the other for more lively activities. The grounds and the orchards and woods beyond offer plenty of opportunity for children to work off surplus energy whilst exploring nature. There are 3 baby cots and 2 high chairs available plus a good selection of other equipment and toys. We, the Owners are on hand to assist with any need or request.
